23rd-Jun-2008 12:41 pm - Leaving for China tomorrow
Determination
Alrighty, for those who haven't heard yet, I'll be leaving for China for the summer tomorrow. I'll be gone until early September and during that time I don't know if I can access LJ because the site is blocked in China. I do have a few things I can try to get around it; one is to use a proxy, and if that doesn't work I have a Firefox patch I can try. And if that also doesn't work, then I'll try using Tor network to get around it. And if none of those work...then I'll just have to switch over to posting on my DeviantArt page for the summer. XD;; I'll make a post here if I manage to get access to LJ. If not I'll make a post to DeviantArt so you guys know I got there in one piece. It might take me a little while to figure out how the patch or Tor works not to mention I'll also be unpacking and such so my post might be a few days late.

I'm gonna try to bring my scanner with me so I can still post fanart during the summer. But my schedule this year is pretty full so I don't know if I will actually have time for that or if my parents would even let me bring all my digital art equipment with me. As for fanfiction, I'm working on Scheherazade right now, and once I get the new chapter completed I'll e-mail it to you Tomoyo. :)

I thought I wasn't gonna get around to it, but here are some pictures of my Exia gunpla that I completed yesterday. I'm hoping to get the other three Gundams to complete my collection. ;) This is my first time detailing a gunpla and I only did the white plastic portions. I might do the rest if I remember once I get back. XD;;

Gundamu~! )

Now I've still got a lot of packing to do so I'd better go do that now. I might not be able to get around to answering your comments, but I hope to talk to all of you again soon. Wish me a safe trip, and I'll see you all later!
22nd-Jun-2008 12:51 am - What my professor said is true: ignorance is bliss at times
Sigh
I got a cut from an Exacto knife today on my thumb while working on my Exia model. The cut wasn't deep and as far as I could tell, didn't draw blood though it sure hurts, so I know I penetrated the dermis layer of my skin. But me, being the Med Micro student that I am, thought about the possibility of having just given myself tetanus. -_-;; My Med Micro professor Dr.L said at the beginning of class last quarter that "ignorance is bliss," especially after you've gone through his class. At first I thought he was trying to intimidate us, but now when I look at food left out on the table I can't help but wonder if there's C. botulinum multiplying in there, or if a little bump on my arm was the prelude to a Staph infection. In my field of work if you think too much like me you get paranoid, and if you don't (which is really hard considering what you know by heart) then you might just one day enjoy the irony of getting slammed with what you have studied. The problem with me is that I'm a worry-wort person who knows a lot of stuff that I can worry about. I'm just glad I'm not any more paranoid than I already am, or else I'd become a raging hypochondriac. >>;;
16th-Jun-2008 10:04 am - Strange dreams o_0
Eeps o_o;;
I watched the Gurren Lagann parallel works video yesterday with the characters in an AU setting, busting Nia out of a castle. The strange thing is I had a dream last night about Suzaku from Code Geass in an AU setting as well, except he's now a sailor soldier. And he henshined. -_-;;;;;; I don't even know where or why! my brain pulled that one from. I think the stress from packing and moving after graduation must be getting to me. @_@
16th-Jun-2008 12:47 am - Fanfic muse back on board?
Working
Now that school's ended I've had more time to sit down and think about my fanfics which are pitifully neglected. I think I've hit upon a main theme for Scheherazade and I think I can expand on it. Hopefully this will bode well for my summer writing schedule. XD; With Blue Rose it's a matter of me sitting myself down and put my brain into writing the scene, detail by detail. I swear I'm gonna get some work down on it. >:x

9th-Jun-2008 03:57 pm - Raven Prince illustration: sketches post
Fuel for thought
A while ago during the last heat wave I hid out in the school library and began drawing some Raven!Fakir related illustrations. At least, that's one way of thinking about it. XD; The truth was I got bored and just started drawing, and since I liked the doodles I started with I went ahead and finished them. I'm working on screen toning them on Photoshop and this will be my first actual digital screen tone project once I'm done with them the Dark Knight one doesn't really count because it was actually in gray scale, not tones. :p

6th-Jun-2008 01:23 am - My fanart is being disseminated so I can take over the world!
?
My crack Gundam Meisterin fanart somehow ended up on the AnimeSuki forum. That just lols me to no end. XD;; And before you know it it'll be on 4chan and 2chan >>;;
3rd-Jun-2008 11:59 pm - Crack fanart: Gundam Meisterin
?
I don't know what got to me today, but after having one too many cup of mango black tea during lunch today I got really hyper, and combined with a certain picture from a post by [info]misshallelujah I ended up drawing a rather interesting 00 fanart. I'm not even sure the story I made up makes any sense. :p Ah well, that's the nature of crackdom I suppose.
3rd-Jun-2008 01:02 pm - When anime and medical microbiology collide
Geeky
So while I was riding my bike and thinking about my up coming med micro final today, I was somehow reminded of certain scenes from anime and manga. While thinking about tetanus, I remembered the scene in Princess Tutu where Fakir stabbed his hand with the letter opener. In med micro class my professor told us that tetanus spores can be found just about everywhere (not just on rusty nails, as that's an old wives tale), that it's possible to get it from being punctured with just about anything. And I thought, "Wait, does that mean Fakir might've just given him tetanus?" o_0 And while I was on that line of thought, my brain wandered off to the Sailor Moon manga when Mamoru was coughing up blood due to Nehellenia's curse. The coughing up blood part reminded me of the symptoms of pneumonic plague and tuberculosis. Suffice to say my academic studies take up a good portion of my brain, but for it to start intruding on the anime & manga part of my cranium...that just set a new height for my nerd-meter. -_-;;
2nd-Jun-2008 08:36 pm - I guess that means I can still sorta write
Chipper
I totally forgot about the [info]sm_monthly entry I made back in March, and today when I was checking the comm for new stories I came across the awards for March and realized I had won one of the categories. o_0

I honestly wasn't expecting this at all, considering I haven't written fanfiction in ages and my grammar sort of sucks. >>;; But to win this...it just left me feeling speechless and happy in the knowledge that people still enjoy my writing.
